San Blas adventure travel locations are a fabulous thing to do right now. Few locations include Isla Isabel National Park, This island was cataloged National Park for being the habitat of a great variety of birds. Your visit will be unforgettable as you will enjoy sunrises and sunsets framed by the Pacific, plus you will have the possibility to camp one night on the island. If the visits during the winter opens the eyes well because they will pass whales.
The archipelago has 365 islands picturesque and palm tree covered, uninhabited and set in indescribably beautiful aqua waters. When famous author John Le Carre of The Tailor of Panama stayed in San Blas his comment upon taking in an island view was, “This is not paradise, this is heaven.” This is the place to go if you truly want to “get away from it all” to be seeped in and surrounded by nature. Owned by the Guna indians, they’ve kept everything natural and authentic. What a pleasure to spend a few days where there’s no concrete, glass or steel. Island Banedub is marked with a skull of a cow head near the beach, but don’t let this sight scare you away! Island Banedub has some cabins and a small bar with a campfire. The beach lies to the south and is out of the current so you can bathe in calm waters. At night you will see illuminating jellyfish and squid swimming around and this sight is truly magical! The beaches on Chichimei are probably the most deserted in San Blas and the most easy to reach for travelers without a boat. Chichimei is also a well know backpackers hangout that lacks electricity or flowing water. But this relatively big island, walking around takes up to 15 min, has long white sand beaches with crystal clear water all around. They have a volleyball field with volleyball that you can use all day for free. You can stay here in cabin full of hammocks, back to basic with the facilities. Chichimei is a must go for visitors of San Blas.
Have you ever wanted to spend a day and a night on your own beautiful island? An island paradise smack-bang in the middle of gorgeous clear blue seas where there’s no one else around?A place where all you have to do is jump in the water when it gets too hot? Well, the island you see in the image above is one of those. We stayed there on our second night. Well that’s San Blas. It gets even better. We had a Kuna Native visit us. An hour after he left he dropped off some ice cold beers we could enjoy around the fire on our own island. I guess Robinson Crusoe wouldn’t have minded that service!
The Kuna people are the indigenous tribe that inhabit some of the islands. We had the chance to be able to stay on one of their islands for 2 out of the three nights we were there. On the second night we had the chance to play football with the kids and hang out at the local bar in the evening. They’re very welcoming people, and it was definitely a great experience to see the way that the Kuna people live.
