Zion cards tips and other good NBA cards buys? Even if selling is a casual part of your collecting (it is for most of us in some form), take the time to figure out where the best place is and way to do it. One other thing to remember is that this can be an expensive hobby now. If you’re buying a box purely speculating on a return, you’re likely to lose out quickly. And losing a significant amount of money a couple of times will quickly lead to burnout. So if it’s a business you’re looking for, research the market first. If you’re here primarily for a hobby, stick with what you enjoy and what’s in your budget. That way, the worst case scenario of getting a scrub player doesn’t seem so bad.

Is Professional Grading Worth It? Companies such as Beckett and Collectors Universe provide professional grading services; that is, an independent organization that will, for a fee, grade your card (either through a hobby shop, by mail or at a show) and provide a rating of your card. Most grading services are identified by a 3 or 4 letter anagram (Beckett Grading Services—BGS, Professional Sportscard Authenticators—PSA) and most have a rating scale of 10 (some have a scale of 100) ranging from Poor (1) to Gem-Mint or Pristine (10). In addition, these companies add additional codes to indicate other defects, such as “OC” for off-center cards. Most grading companies issue “population reports”, which tell collectors how many of a given card has been given a certain grade, so a collector can see how scarce a card is in a given grade.

Good choice for a future huge rookie card value increase? Zion Williamson! You heard it right! In his freshman and only season with Duke, Williamson was named ACC Player of the Year, ACC Athlete of the Year and ACC Rookie of the Year. He set the single-game school scoring record for freshmen in January 2019, claimed ACC Rookie of the Week accolades five times, earned AP Player of the Year, Sporting News College Player of the Year recognition, and won the Wayman Tisdale Award. Zion Williamson can have a fairly healthy career ? Then i would prepare for a big price increase for his rookie cards. Another oddball card that makes our list is the 1960 Kahn’s Wieners card of Lakers legend Jerry West. These regional issues were distributed primarily in the Cincinnati area so it’s interesting to note that West was only non- Cincinnati Royal to have a card in this set. The hobby only recognizes the 1961 Fleer as his rookie, but this pre-rookie card released a year earlier is just as if not more expensive. Finding them in top condition without staining is tough though, since the cards were distributed inside packages of meat. Baylor’s acrobatic moves were something the game had never seen before and paved the way for other exciting performers like Dr. J, Jordan and Bryant. And most people forget, he’s actually number three on the NBA’s all-time points per game leader board after posting a 27.4 ppg career mark. Also, notice the giraffe logo on his card, something that’s been somewhat of a mystery to Lakers fans and collectors for years. It’s an amazing card of one of the Lakers’ most overlooked legends.
