What does blue light filter do: Without getting into complicated physics, there is an inverse relationship between the wavelength of light rays and the amount of energy they contain. Light rays that have relatively long wavelengths contain less energy, and those with short wavelengths have more energy.
Fortunately, many device companies are aware of the health risks from blue light, and are implementing solutions. Bill James’ works at Healthe, Healthe, which develops a dye that mitigates blue light and can be layered on glass or clear adhesive. They’re partnering with glass companies that produce the majority of glass for automotive applications, meaning we should see commercial applications of blue-light filtering technology in our own devices in the near future. (You can also buy blue-filter covers for your laptop, mobile phone and VR goggles at the Healthe webstore.)
PERFECTSIGHT MacBook Pro 16 Screen Protector Warm Tips: To help cut the glare, reflection, blue light and UV ray from Apple MacBook, this screen protector has a slightly “frosted” look – matte. But if you’re looking for a crystal clear optical screen (and the eyestrain that goes with it), you might want to be aware of this before you buy. If you care about the future health of your eyes and it will aid helping further deterioration. I know it’s somewhat costly, but it’s nothing compared to the cost of your eyes. See a few extra info at MacBook Pro 16 screen protector.
Allow distance. Being too close to your screen is also a factor in how your eyes can be negatively affected—they have to work harder to see things that are closer. If possible, keep your monitor or screen about 25 inches away, or about an arm’s length away. Make sure to position the screen so your eye gaze is directed slightly downward. Adjust the brightness. When a screen is much brighter than the surrounding light, eyes have to work harder. If you can, adjust your room lighting and try increasing the contrast on your screen.
Because short-wavelength, high energy blue light scatters more easily than other visible light, it is not as easily focused. When you’re looking at computer screens and other digital devices that emit significant amounts of blue light, this unfocused visual “noise” reduces contrast and can contribute to digital eye strain. Research has shown that lenses that block blue light with wavelengths less than 450 nm (blue-violet light) increase contrast significantly. Therefore, computer glasses with yellow-tinted lenses may increase comfort when you’re viewing digital devices for extended periods of time. The lens in the adult human eye blocks nearly 100 percent of the sun’s UV rays. As part of the normal aging process, the eye’s natural lens eventually blocks some short-wavelength blue light as well — the type of blue light most likely to cause damage to the retina and lead to macular degeneration and vision loss.
Tempered glass screen prtector (aslo called Toughened glass screen protector) is a type of safety glass screen cover processed by controlled thermal or chemical treatments to increase its strength compared with normal glass screen protector. Tempering craft puts the outer surfaces into compression and the inner surfaces into tension.Tempered glass screen prtector is 5 to 10 times more stronger than normal glass screen protector. Tempered glass screen protector is usually made of multi-layered structure, 3-5 layer is most frequently on market.(PERFECTSIGHT best eye care tempered glass screen protectors for iPhone, iPad, MacBook even is up to 11 layer).
