Built in 1894, Lau Pa Sat, once a wet market, is now a popular and atmospheric hawker centre. This historic building was built with Victorian filigree cast-iron and is located in the heart of Singapore’s business area. Singapore’s Merlion is just what it sounds like – the figure of a mythical creature that has the head of a lion and the body and tail of a fish.
