If you travel to Singapore you may want to see this awesome new tourist activity in Singapore. While you are there you can smell one iconic fragrance that was re-launched recently: Singapore Girl perfume. It did not take long for her fragrance to become popular. In fact, in the early 1970s, Perfumes of Orient and another massive perfume business called Perfumes of Singapore, owned by her soon to be next husband, Mr. Dadi Balsara, merged to become Perfumes of Singapore Pte Ltd. There were at least two factories that produced thousands of this perfume each month, and it was sold both domestically and internationally. In 1997, Singapore Girl perfume became the top prize offered at the Singapore Manufacturer Association as well.

In 2014, Singapore Memories acquired the formulas with the main goal of bringing all vintage scent, which is lost in time, back to life. Since then they have been producing Singapore Girl in hand-crafted, small batches. But on September 6, 2007 Perfume of Singapore came to an end and with that the creation of the Singapore Girl Perfume. The good news is that Singapore Memories have taken the original creation to present the same old delicious fragrance. Singapore Memories are the creators of not only Singapore Girl but from a wide variety of perfumes inspired by legendary orchids of Singapore.

Perhaps the most important name is its Chinese medicinal name: Heishanzhe. The Chinese herb Heishanzhe (A. rigida) is obtained from Guangdong, Guangxi and Yunnan. Chinese medicinal texts state that its roots and leaves relax muscles and joints, promote blood circulation and relieve pain, hence it is used to treat traumatic injuries and fractures. In Laos, leaves were used in making mats. In Thailand, the entire plant is used as a tonic to strengthen the body. Active Ingredients that made it medicinal are: 4-hydroxybenzoic acid, 4- hydroxybenaldehyde and 4-methoxymethyl phenol.

With 28 awe-inspiring hectares to explore, it’s unlikely that you’ll be able to cover Singapore Zoo in its entirety in a day. But you give it a good go. Unlike traditional zoos, which keep its animals in cages, this place was the first in the world to implement the ‘open concept’, which has animals in individually landscaped enclosures. There are more than 4,000 animals to see across 11 zones, including Wild Africa, Primate Kingdom and Frozen Tundra. The “center of commerce during the 19th century,” Clarke Quay lives up to its legacy as a busy hub. Today, it has a more polished sheen, so after a long day of shopping on Orchard Road, visitors can happily head to Clarke Quay for an evening of waterfront dining and entertainment. River taxis and cruises also depart from here, giving tourists the chance to admire some of the city’s historic bridges and view landmarks like the Merlion from the water. The Quay’s biggest hit with younger tourists is a giant bungy-jumping attraction, an adrenaline-packed thrill ride. Nearby attractions include the Asian Civilisation Museum; the Civil Defence Heritage Gallery located in Singapore’s oldest fire station; and the Hong San See Temple, a picturesque century-old Buddhist place of worship.

Singapore’s famed Marina Bay is the place to go to see the city’s most spectacular things to do. With the fast development of this cosmopolitan city-state, the whole Marina Bay area has undergone a transformation of epic proportions. The S$5.5 billion Marina Bay Sands complex is the focal point of the bay, and many of the great things to do and see in the area revolve around this epic building and resort, such as the Science Museum, Casino and various shopping, dining and nightlife options.
