Leyland Physio treats a wide range of physiotherapy conditions from back ache and neck pain to joint problems, sports injuries, repetitive strain injuries, neurological problems and strains and pain during pregnancy. Our physiotherapists look at the whole body rather than just the injury or illness you have presented with, so they can also offer you advice on lifestyle issues, posture and the prevention of further problems occurring. This is not an exhaustive list but covers many of the physiotherapy conditions we see regularly at the center. If you are affected by any of these conditions, or by a condition which is not listed below, please contact us to find out how we can help.

What people say? This is a friendly and professional team who give excellent treatment and whose patients’ interests are at the heart of everything they do. Have visited here prior to and following several operations for: advice, rehabilitation including hands on treatment and exercises. Proactive treatment, exercises, advice and encouragement provided to make those steps towards recovery. Have recommended Leyland Physio to family and friends and wouldn’t hesitate to give Leyland Physio a 5 star rating.

Pilates: Pilates is a form of exercise focusing on balance, strength, posture and flexibility. It is suitable for people of all ages and abilities when taught by a trained practitioner. At Leyland Physiotherapy we incorporate Pilates extensively to rehabilitate core strength and prevent further injury especially in back pain patients. Exercise rehabilitation: Every patient is provided with a tailored exercise programme aimed at alleviating pain, restoring normal strength and endurance and therefore hopefully preventing a reoccurrence of injury. We have light weight resistance, balance equipment and mobility aids on site to help in the teaching process. See more details on Physiotherapy Preston.

It is thought that the shockwaves activate C nerve fibres which release a specific substance (substance P) in the tissue and in the spinal cord. This substance is responsible for the slight discomfort during and after shockwave treatment. However, with prolonged activation, C fibres become incapable for some time of releasing substance P. Less Substance P in tissue, means less pain for the patient! NICE guidance 2009 recommends Shockwave for the treatment of chronic tendon injuries especially Achilles ,Tennis elbow and Plantar Fasciitis. We are one of the few private physiotherapy clinics in Lancashire able to offer this specialist therapy .Very competitively priced at only £65 per session, this is an amazing treatment… DON’T SUFFER any longer.
